Cultivars

Brazilian legislation has provided, since 1997, through its own system based on the Union pour La Protection de las Variétés Vegetales (UPOV), for the protection of plant varieties, known as "cultivars". Linked to the Ministry of Agriculture, the National Plant Variety Protection Service (SNPC) analyzes applications for cultivar registration in the country.
