On July 3, 2019, the Brazilian Ministry of Economy and the Brazilian Patent Office (BPTO) announced a plan of action intended to reduce the patent examination backlog in 80% by the end of 2021.
Aiming at rendering the priority examination procedure faster and simpler, the Brazilian Patent Office (BPTO) standardized the requirements and improved the proceedings for the different modalities.
