LGPD entry into force
The General Data Protection Law (LGPD) came into force in Brazil on September 18, with the sanction of Law 14.058 / 2020, originated from the Provisional Measure (MP) 959/20.

Brazil’s new General Data Protection Law is sanctioned by the President
The LGPD establishes a broad data protection regime in Brazil and imposes specific rules for the collection, use, processing and storage of personal data, both electronic and physical.
The action against the rule for minimum of ten years of patent validity was rejected.
